About Me:

Hello! My name is John Ferguson, and I am from Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Throughout my life, I've always enjoyed building and testing things. Whether it was through playing with Legos when I was younger to designing new parts in SOLIDWORKs and building computers as I got older, I maintained my passion for dissecting complex objects and understanding their individual intricacies. I am currently a student at the University of Pittsburgh Swanson School of Engineering intending to major in Electrical Engineering to pursue my passions.

My interests lie in the intersection of materials, mechanical, and electrical design. I always find it exciting to design something on paper and see it in the real world. Through my experiences with designing parts with Computer Aided Design (CAD) and my background in Fused Deposition Modeling (3D printing), I can see my ideas come to life.  Some of my favorite projects complement my interests in computer building such as the fabrication of a GPU bracket to minimize its strain on the motherboard. I am looking for opportunities to grow my passion for the intersection of design and electrical engineering, particularly through the semiconductor industry.
